Summer Camp is right around the corner. School will soon be out, and the summer heat will soon be upon us. The best thing to do in this situation is head to Colorado. We have a great camp planned, and we’re hoping for another great group this year. I’ve been planning and building lots of team games, so get ready for some serious competition. So, pack your bags and get ready for an awesome camp!

Where are we staying???

Since we’ve had camp in Colorado 5 times in the past, we decided to change things up a bit this year and go to a new location. We will be staying at the YMCA of the Rockies, “Snow Mountain Ranch” located near Granby, Colorado. We will be staying in a large cabin instead of tents this year, so you will not need to bring a tent or camping gear (other than a camping chair). I don’t know if the cabin will have a land line, so the best way to get in contact with us is to call Bob or Kim while we’re there.

What will we be doing?

Color Wars!!! If you’ve ever seen the show “Survivor”, then you know about the team challenges. We’ll be competing in lots of those types of challenges as we face off each morning. In addition, we’ll see The Purest form of Creation as we drive over the top of the world on Trail Ridge Road through the Rocky Mountain National Park. We’ll also be visiting Winter Park Resort where you’ll face the Alpine Slide and other outdoor activities. Snow Mountain Ranch offers a lot of outdoor activities from basketball and volleyball to hiking and the state’s first summer tubing hill. There’s a ton to do there and we’ll do as much as we can in the days we’re there.

FREE DRAWSTRING BACKPACK

Get a FREE Refuge 980 drawstring backpack when you sign up and pay your $50 Deposit in the month of April!
Signing up in April will REALLY help us get our reservations and plans made that are dependent on us knowing how many people are going.

Other important information: Your medical release form and balance are due on Wednesday, May 30th. This is also the deadline to sign up. Please fill out every blank, including insurance information. This is for the protection of your child if there is a medical need they face while in Colorado. If you leave things blank, it can slow the process of getting your child help if needed. Of course we hope that no one needs medical help on the trip, but we want to be ready to help them if needed.

Please bring your insurance card to the parent meeting (May 30th from 6:00-6:30) so we can copy it.

The cost for the trip is $250. There is a $50 Deposit Due at Sign-up.

We will be leaving from the J.C. Penny’s parking lot at 7:30 am on Saturday, June 9th. We will return to the same parking lot in the evening on Saturday, June 16th. We will be staying at a hotel on the way and the way back. Please visit with your child before the trip and make sure they understand what it means to stay in a room and behave without your supervision. We will be requiring the students to stay in their rooms after curfew, and noncompliance with that rule can get them sent home early. There will be more specific information as to where we’ll be staying on the road before we leave.

Deadline to Sign up is Wednesday, May 30th.

Due at May 30th meeting (from 6:00-6:30):
